Quantitative Risk Assessment
We run two probabilistic risk models built on the Muhlbauer framework, one for hazardous liquid pipelines and one for non-DOT facilities including storage terminals, truck racks, rail racks, and marine docks. Both express risk as probability of failure multiplied by consequence of failure, reported as an expected annual cost.
Pipelines are divided into segments of uniform character and scored against ten threat categories, split between time-dependent mechanisms like external and internal corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and fatigue, and time-independent mechanisms like third-party damage, incorrect operations, and outside force. Measured inspection data governs wherever it exists. Where it does not, conservative defaults apply, so unknown conditions are never understated.
Results come back two ways: total annual risk in dollars per year for budgeting and system-level prioritization, and risk intensity in dollars per mile-year for targeting inspections, digs, and rehabilitation. The two rankings often differ, and presenting both prevents length or intensity from being read in isolation.
Facility assessments follow the same logic across five equipment types and produce a documented fit-for-continued-service determination.

Compliance
Regulatory Compliance and Audit Support
Review of required regulatory tasks, compliance intervals, and field execution under 49 CFR Parts 192 and 195. We prepare operators for PHMSA and state agency audits, including CSFM where applicable, and sit with them through the audit itself.
Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure plan review and validation under 40 CFR Part 112. Manual review and updating. Compliance database and electronic management of change options are available.
Corrosion
Corrosion Control
Corrosion control program review, evaluation of cathodic protection survey data, and internal corrosion assessment with mitigation planning. Direct assessment support across external, internal, and stress corrosion cracking methodologies, including confirmatory dig programs.
Our engineering leadership holds corrosion and materials certifications from AMPP.
Facility
Facility Integrity and Reliability
Inspection plan development and program execution for terminals, racks, and docks. Identification of critical and safety-critical equipment, maintenance planning to improve reliability, and facility risk inspection tied to the quantitative facility risk model.
Work is referenced to API 570, API 574, API 653, and ASME B31.4, with 49 CFR Part 195 applied as good operating practice where a facility falls outside DOT jurisdiction.
Qualification
Operator Qualification
Operator qualification program support in accordance with 49 CFR Parts 192 and 195. Direwolf is certified to evaluate through OQSG, Veriforce, and NCCER, and serves as an OQSG reseller.
Operator qualification credentials
Proctor and evaluator services, review and support of qualification records and documentation, and development of training programs for operations and maintenance personnel.

Diligence
Due Diligence and Conversion to Service
Asset acquisition support covering capital requirements and integrity cost evaluation, so a buyer understands the liability attached to the pipe before closing rather than after. Conversion to service support for lines changing product or regulatory status.
Aerial
UAS Inspection
Right-of-way inspection flown with our own aircraft under FAA Part 107 certification. Aerial survey covers ground that is slow to walk and unsafe to drive, and produces a dated visual record rather than a field note.
We are developing LiDAR capability for containment volume verification under SPCC and for GIS integration, which would let survey output feed directly into facility and project work.
